When Film goes wrong
The excitement of finishing your film and hoping that the shots you took will be as good as envisioned only to find after developing there’s nothing there…….
This was probably the most frustrating mistake ever, i loaded the camera and the film didn’t catch on and by total lack of concentration I didn’t even notice (the danger of changing cameras all the time when all the films thread differently)
As frustrating and devastating it is to go through the developing process and not have and photos at the end of it, it’s a great learning curve to always check your camera before shooting but also a reminder of the fragility of film it’s not like digital where even if the photos get deleted normally you can find a back up somewhere.
Personally this gives film its charm it’s taking a shot and hoping for the best using skill to change the camera settings to get the image you want and having to hope you got it only to go through developing and it’s not there or not framed right or it’s underexposed, it shows the rawness of a moment captured.
Failure comes with using film but when you get a shot you’re really proud of its all worth the effort and failed rolls of film, practice makes perfect.
