Kosmo Foto Mono - Film review
I’ll admit I was drawn to the Kosmo film due to its packaging with the tonal colours and the fun spaceman on the box I had to find out more about this cool looking film.
The kosmo Foto Mono
35mm
100 ISO
36 exposures
Black and white
This film is an established emulsion from a European film producer and it is a great punchy black and white film giving some nice grainy images and producing great contrast in the image.
I loaded this film into my Pentax P30 (The film isn’t DX but it’s ability to be pushed and pulled in developing means it’s doesn’t matter too much) I went out shooting on a bright sunny day to get the best out of this film and I was not disappointed it says this film was inspired by graphic art and with the crisp tone I got I can see that translated in my images.
It gives a sharp image even though it’s 100 ISO it can be pushed in developing to 400 to get this vibrant contrast that I have achieved which I personally feel is the best way to use the film and get a more monochrome feel to it.
In Conclusion
I like this film its contrast makes the images pop and it’s a reasonable price at just £6, i personally like the fact it gives more than the standard gray tones of most black and white films but it’s definitely a film for specific images rather than a point and shoot film for everyday shots.
